WELCOME!

Before I get started, let me introduce myself!

Kim, Kimberly, or even the occasional Kimmy... which ever name you know me by... I am the owner and solo operator of Kim's Pet Service.

I have grown up here in the PNW and love living in the heart of the Skagit Valley between the mountains of the Cascade and the waters of the Puget sound for the last almost 20 years. My husband and I rent a beautiful spot to park our 5th wheel and live with our dog, two cats, 3 guinea pigs and bunny. We also have had a sweet little foster dog for the last 5 months. It is not the typical "foster" situation... I took Rosie in so that we could visit her owner who wasn't able to care for her on a daily basis any longer, but who deserves to still be able to see her precious puppy.

Having Rosie and experiencing this relationship has forced me to think about an issue I never thought about as a problem. The sacrifice that the elderly have to deal with when they are physically unable to care for their beloved pets. I honestly believe that pets help with mental health on an unimaginable scale. This journey has changed my dreams. And thus...we get into why I am here.

Today is my birthday! On a hot Friday night 36 years ago, I came into this world! Each year I attempt to try new things and start new adventures. My birthday to me is the equivalent to making a new years resolution!

This year is no different!

I am here to share my story, my journey as an entrepreneur, a dog walker, a woman out here in the world trying to build something. I want to celebrate my achievements and delve into my failures with you. I want to become a resource for others and a guiding light in the chaos. I don't claim to know what I am doing, but I can share my experiences. I can write about what I am learning, post funny antics of my job and my own pets and even research toys, gear and other pet products to review for you!

I am here to write. I love language. I love sharing stories, pictures and resources. I'm not here to gain a million views or be an influencer. I just want to add a little light to this adventure we call life.

Are you comin' along for the ride?!

Posts will start out small and I can assure you grammar won't always be correct. I will get lost in tangents and let the run on sentences run the marathons they are determined to. I will touch on emotions... happy and sad... but real. Life is rainbows and unicorns, but it is also thunderstorms and hurricanes. I will eventually have weekly posts, but for now, bi-monthly will be the gold standard. The 3rd and the 21st of each month!
